The anticipation around the recent awards show reached a fever pitch, notably after presenter Geoff Keighley shared a mysterious photo of a desert monolith. The secret has been revealed. Larian Studios is working on a completely new Divinity game.
Titled simply Divinity, the game was showcased with a daring trailer featuring intense imagery, from a burning man to an orgy and the very opening of infernal gates.
Not the Expected Sequel
For those anticipating Divinity Original Sin 3, prepare for a surprise. The studio warned that a direct sequel to its venerated RPGs is not being worked on now.
Nevertheless, the developer described this new Divinity as a evolution of the main series. This choice of words implies that the team could be crafting a real-time experience as opposed to another turn-based title. At this moment, we can only guess, as only a cinematic trailer is available.
A Pillar of Modern RPGs

While its universe is traditional swords and sorcery, what makes Divinity apart is the immense freedom bestowed upon the player.
In contrast to modern RPGs have pared back options, Divinity is brimming with unique possibilities only possible if you're playing as a distinct build with a personal story.
The series is also notoriously open-ended, enabling players to experiment in narrative and gameplay. Most missions can be approached in diverse methods, sometimes in surprising fashion.
